Tim Bennett is a very promising young rider. He is
17, lives in Putaruru and attends Te Awamutu College. Tim has been riding for
five years and is coached by club secretary and coach Bev May.
Tim has been selected in the New Zealand team for
the Junior Track World Championships to be held in Ghent, Belgium on 5th-8th
August 2006. His selection was the result of excellent performances at both the
2005 Oceania Track Championships and the 2006 National Track Championships (both
held in Wanganui). His achievements at these events are listed below:

On the road Tim also has some impressive results,
among them 4th overall and 1st Under 19 rider for the Rotorua to Taupo Flyer
held in April 2006. His 13th placing overall in the recent 2006 Te Awamutu Three
Day Junior Tour resulted in him being selected in the national team for the
Mooball Tour in Australia held on 10th-15th May 2006.
Update: Tim finished third in the A grade
of the Tour of Taranaki held over Queens Birthday weekend 2006.
Tim is thrilled to have the opportunity to wear
the Silver Fern and have the experience of a lifetime.
