Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Morrinsville Wheelers Cycling Club. We are a friendly club located in the heart of the Waikato, New Zealand. Our cyclists range from national champions to the occasional recreational rider. We have a strong history in both road and track and our riders actively participate in both these disciplines. Morrinsville Wheelers is affiliated to Cycling NZ.

We are committed to providing the correct level of racing to enhance your riding ability and to give all riders an equal chance of winning. We have coaches available to help you set up your bike correctly and to provide training advice to help you with your short and/or long term goals.

The club hosts three major events during the year. In February is the Bev May Women's Tour, which is regularly attended by the top women riders in the country. The tour offers participation in A, B and Novice grades. The Kaimai Cycles Invitation is held in August and is a 64 km handicap race with shorter courses for age-group grades. The first weekend of October traditionally is the Morrinsville Open. This consists of a handicap race on Saturday and graded mass start races on Sunday.

Regular club races are held throughout the year, usually on alternate Saturdays. During daylight saving, Tuesday evenings are host to the popular Kaimai Cycles Twilight Series. Check Events for more information on club races.

The quiet country roads of the Morrinsville area offer some of the best racing and training around. We have a bit of everything: long flats, challenging hills and undulating circuits. Cycling is growing enormously nationwide, so come and experience this exciting sport with the Morrinsville Wheelers!
