10/07/2008: "Kaimai Cycles Twilight Series RACE 1"

Weather Conditions could have been much worse. At 5pm a horrible storm passed over Morrinsville. By the time 6.30 rolled up it was still raining, still blowing but not to the same extent.

At 5.45 only four people turned up. By 6.30 17 people started together in a mass start A, B, C Grade all together. One circuit of Walton Rd (tail wind - group up to 45km+), Station Road (side wind), Railway/Bolten Rd (head wind) was a total of 16km was not too much to contend with.

Welcome Sue Smith for your first ride in the club - you chose a tricky night to contend with but you did great! You are an encouragement for new riders to come along...

This was the first ride in the Kaimai Cycles Points challenge for the summer series. Don't forget - regular attendance leads to accumulation of points! Also, more people who ride = more points up for grabs.
