09/28/2008: "Morrinsville Open - Bill & Hazel Summers Memorial & Kaimai Cycles events"
This weekend we hosted the Morrinsville Wheelers Bill & Hazel Summers Memorial Race (Saturday) and the Kaimai Cycles sponsored events for U13, U15, U17). Numbers were down this year considerably due to a couple of clashes with Taupo to Napier (Sat) and the Secondary Schools events held in the Manawatu... Next year the club is going to host the event around April (to be determined) so that we encourage more riders to get out there, and less clashes of events.
Thank you to Kaimai Cycles for your sponsorship of the U13/U15/U17 events.
Thank you to all officials this weekend. Saturday was not pleasant out there for all of you standing on corners or the start/finish line. Your help is much appreciated:

This year Catriona started on the limit bunch but rode the majority (approx 70km) alone. Well done on your race completion.
