07/06/2008: "Tour of Canberra - Courtney Lowe & others..."

Courtney Lowe of Tauranga Cycling is also an associate Member of Morrinsville Wheelers Cycling has been in Australia racing in the Canberra Junior & Women's Tour. Courtney was initially chosen to be a non-travelling reserve for the tour based on previous results. However, after a terrible crash by Harriot Smities (Canterbury) in the Taranaki Tour Courtney got her big chance to perform. Although not initially in the team Courtney Coach Bev May suggested she keep training incase circumstances changed. This is how it all panned out:

Time Trial 15th (4th kiwi)
Road Race 14th (4th kiwi)
Criterium 18th (3rd kiwi)
Overall 16th (4th kiwi)

To be 4th kiwi overall is a fantastic effort for Courtney, well done!
