03/18/2008: "Kaimai Cycles Twilight Series - Race 20 - Bolton & Pakerau Road Circuit"

49 riders participated in tonights racing (start Bolton Road) out & back for U13 (11km)while everyone else did one circuit of Pakerau Road and returned to Bolton Road (approx 25km).

U13

Therese Williams had her first win for the season on her mountain bike - a good effort. Christian Smith was a little ahead of Theo Wright & Fuad Sedick who fought for the fastest time. Michael Smith, Julia Williams, Achmid Sedik and Aimee Russell weren't too far behind.

U13 Results - 11km

1 Therese Williams 37.49
2 Christian Smith 26.49
3 Theo Wright 24.54 (fastest time)
4 Fuad Sedick 24.55
5 Michael Smith 28.39
6 Achmid Sedick 30.24
7 Aimee Russell 29.41
Claire Williams followed riders to ensure rider safety - some of our little ones are just seven and eight years of age.

U15/U17/Open - 25km

Charlie Murrell put in a great effort to catch onto the break bunch to win his grade. Georgina Read was going really well until she had a flat tyre and retired and Liam Aberhart did a tiki tour on the return leg of the course - oops!

U17 Scott Jackson, Gavin Wolfe and Patrick Burrows had a great ride ahead of Gemma Murrell and Louis Wright (fastest time U17). It has been a great season with all the juniors giving it a go!

Open riders It is great to see different riders each week having a win in their grade. Tonight Bruce Timmings, Shane Robinson, Adrian Smith, Robbie Mazzola and Paul Burrows held out their lead (with a number of U17s) to take maximum points ahead of a fast chasing break bunch headed by recent club arrival Rob Russell. Bevan Mason, also a recent club arrival put in a huge effort to break up the scratch bunch leading them in by over 30seconds.
